We celebrated the 79th Independence Day of India with great fervor and patriotic spirit. The celebration was held alongside the Feast of the Assumption of Mary, making the occasion doubly significant for the parish community. The day began with a solemn Holy Mass, celebrated by Fr Fredrick Braggs, Parish Priest of Pavoor Uliya with Parish Priest Fr Marcel Saldanha delivering an inspiring homily. After the mass Golden Jubilee of ICYM was inaugraated by unfurling the logo.

Following the Eucharistic celebration, the tricolour was hoisted in a dignified flag-hoisting ceremony. Guest for the ceremony were two Elder people of our Parish Mr. Hilary D'Souza and Mrs. Florine Fernandes. The event was graced by Parish Priest Fr Marcel Saldanha, Fr Braggs, Parish Council Vice President Mr. Louis Pereira, Sr. Supr of Mariagiri Convent Sr. Mable and ICYM animator Mr. Sharath Rosario along with ICYM President Ms. Jenisha Pinto and Secretary Ms. Princia Lobo.

The chief guests for the occasion shared their experiences and urged everyone to live in unity and harmony as one community.

ICYM President Ms. Jenisha Pinto extended a warm welcome and introduced the guest, while Secretary Ms. Princia Lobo delivered the vote of thanks. The program was energetically compered by Ms. Jenisya Sequira, ensuring a smooth and engaging flow of events.
